Germany is considered one of the countries with the highest quality of life in Europe. Gaining education and work experience in a large European country is very important for career advancement. But volunteering in Germany has many additional benefits.
ESC stands for European Solidarity Corps. This programme offers young people between the ages of 18 and 30 the opportunity to volunteer for 2 to 12 months in different countries of the European Union. Germany is the largest of these countries. It is an ideal opportunity to improve your language skills and get to know other cultures.

The aim of the ESC

Tasks that can be carried out within the framework of the ESC include
- Working with children and young people
- Caring for the elderly and disabled
- Helping refugees and asylum seekers
- Working on environmental projects
- Working on arts and culture projects

How do I come to Germany on ESC?
- ESC programmes are run by different organisations.
- You can find ESC programmes on the internet or on the website of the European Solidarity Corps.
- An application form, a CV and a letter of motivation are usually required.
- German language skills may also be required for some programmes.

- You do not need a visa or residence permit to participate in the ESC programme.
- You will be allocated accommodation and a supervisor at the start of the programme.
- Volunteers on the ESC programme usually receive an allowance and pocket money.
